Niagara Falls Attractions

Niagara Falls is a beautiful area which offers people many forms of entertainment and fun things to do!

Here are some suggestions (below) of popular attractions in the Niagara area. There is an infinite number of exciting activities to do within Niagara Falls, so feel free to also search on the internet for more options. 

HORNBLOWER NIAGARA CRUISES (Formerly - Maid of the Mist)

 

This tour has been a very popular draw for people over many years, as nothing gets you closer to the rushing water of Niagara Falls. This boat takes you to the base of both the American Falls and the magnificent Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The Maid of the Mist provides you with an experience you'll never forget and it is one of the best ways to appreciate the power and beauty of the falls. A disposable poncho is provided for you (and you'll need it)!

JOURNEY BEHIND THE FALLS

 

It might sound like thunder, but the view is spectacular. If you think that Niagara Falls looks impressive from the front... try viewing it from the back! This tour takes visitors in an elevator to the base of the Horseshoe falls, allowing you to see the power of the water as it's forced over the cliffs (approximately 13 storeys above). Upper and lower observation platforms provide a view of the falls from a different perspective. (Poncho also provided).

NIAGARA BOTANICAL GARDENS

 

The Botanical Gardens continue to attract nearly a million visitors every year. It is located just 10 minutes north of downtown Niagara Falls, on the scenic Niagara Parkway. Here, you will enjoy nearly 100 achres of beautifully maintained gardens (including the world-famous rose garden). Take in the beauty that these gardens have to offer by walking and exploring. Admission to the gardens is free. You only have to pay for parking.

THE BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY

 

The Butterfly Conservatory is located on the grounds of the Botanical Gardens (a 10 minute drive from downtown Niagara Falls). This indoor attraction allows visitors to walk amongst 2000 colourful butterflies flying freely in beautifully recreated tropical conditions. There is a good chance a butterfly will try and land on you at some point too! This self-guided tour is exciting and one that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

THE SKYLON TOWER

 

Experience spectacular views at the Skylon Tower, soaring 775 feet above Niagara Falls. The tower has both indoor and outdoor observation areas (which is great for people who enjoy taking pictures). There are also two restaurants located in the Skylon Tower- one is the Summit Suite Buffet and the other is the famous revolving dining room. Another bonus is the amusement area, complete with a food court and a 4D theatre.

CLIFTON HILL

 

This street has been a popular tourist "hot spot" for many years. Clifton Hill offers many exciting attractions and is always lively, day and night. There are so many things to do on Clifton Hill that one day is barely enough. Some key attractions include: the Sky Wheel, The Great Canadian Midway, Strike Rock N Bowl, Wizards Mini-Golf, Fudge Factory, MovieLand Wax Museum, Guiness World Records, Ripley's "Believe It or Not", and MANY MORE!

FALLSVIEW CASINO RESORT 

 

This 2.5 million square foot complex includes more than 3000 slot machines and 150 gaming tables, a 1500 seat theatre, a spa, fitness centre, retail stores, restaurants, and so much more! Fallsview Casino Resort is the largest and most elegant gaming facility in Canada. The resort is literally built on a cliff which overlooks the famous Horseshoe Falls. You are destined to have some excitement by stopping in here, even for a little while.
